Ride to Remember Dan Dye Dice Run benefits Co-op Family Christmas in memory of late NFEC Lineman, Dan Dye

Thirty-three riders showed up for the debut of the Ride to Remember Dan Dye Benefit Dice Run on Saturday, June 12.  The event raised $1,602.00 in memory of late NFEC Lineman, Dan Dye, and those proceeds have generously been added to Northfork Electric Cooperative’s Co-op Family Christmas Fund.

“We wanted to honor Dan, and this (Co-op Family Christmas) was something close to his heart,” said Rowdy Chambers who organized the event.  “We’re coming back next year and we’re hoping to make it even bigger.”

The Co-op Family Christmas program began over 17 years ago at NFEC.  Recipients are selected by a committee of employees who are personally familiar with the circumstances faced by each family.  Those selected have been identified as facing more than their fair share of challenges in the past year related to health, loss of family members, or the loss/damage of personal property.  The program has helped families hundred of family through the years by providing bill assistance and gift baskets, in addition to specific help such as Life Alert service plans, or lending assistance after a family suffered a catastrophic event such as a house fire.

The Ride to Remember Dan Dye will return summer 2022. Be on the lookout for details.
