Winners announced in NFEC's Christmas Card Design Contest

Just like Santa and all the elves, you all delivered!  We received nearly 50 submissions of colorful holiday designs for NFEC’s second-annual Christmas Card Contest and we were amazed!

Selecting the winners wasn’t an easy process; the creativity and talent in classrooms in our service area is inspiring.  Thank you to all the parents and teachers who encouraged their students to apply.  We can’t wait to see next year’s entries!

The contest is divided into three age divisions.   Unfortunately, no designs were submitted in the 8 and under division.  As promised, we have grand prize winners and runners-up in both divisions.

The 2021 winners are as follows:

Ages 9-13

Grand Prize: Lexi Varnell, from Sayre Middle School,

Runner-up: Brianna Mosburg, from Sayre Middle School,

Ages 14-17

Grand prize: Adrien Harris, from Sayre High School, and

Runner-up: Savannah Hill, from Sayre HIgh School.

The overall winning design that will be featured on the 2021 NFEC Christmas card was submitted by 15-year-old Adrien Harris who attends Sayre High School.

The grand prize winners each received a $100 Visa gift card and the runners-up each received a $50 Visa gift card.  These designs are sure to bring holiday cheer to our members, colleagues and partners nationwide!

NFEC’s Christmas Card Contest is an opportunity for students in our service area to showcase their creativity and to recognize the importance of arts in education.  The contest is open to students up to 17 years old, either homeschooled or attending school within NFEC’s service area.  All entries must be hand drawn and follow the theme of combining electricity or line workers with a Christmas or holiday component.  Only original artwork is accepted.

The deadline for entries in the 2022 Christmas Card contest is January 28, 2022 at 5 p.m.
